I started my day off making a case for my new Google Nexus Tablet using a well done tutorial I found online. ... I got frustrated and set it aside and worked more on the dragon paper piece quilt I'm in the middle of.
Yesterday I contacted the designer of the tutorial to get clarification on what I was not understanding and she got back to me right away. I had totally forgotten that I had cut a second lining piece... uh, yeah, not my most brilliant moment in pattern reading.... so I got to work right away on the project. I wanted to get it done before I went out to do errands. I came close, but didn't finish.
SO there is my finished tablet cover. It doesn't sit up the way it should. I was about to email the designer back... yup. Totally my mistake but sadly it is one that I can not fix now. The button and the elastic are on the wrong sides! The button should be on this side...
Well. I guess I'll be cutting out some more fabric and chalking this up to not paying attention. I don't know what I was thinking. I did go back and double check the pattern and it doesn't tell you which side to put the button on... however if I had been paying attention I would have noticed in the picture the elastic was on the side with the two board pieces not the solid piece.....
I believe where I went wrong was when I drew on the lines for the board pockets. I measured from left to right, like you are reading a book.. she went right to left apparently. The directions say "measures from left edge of pocket" and I just measured left to right...
So if you sew this tablet cover up, make sure you align your button piece on the side that will have the solid board :)
I'll post up later with a remake - if I actually do remake it. I'm not 100% sure if I will at this point. We'll see later on. For now, I have to get back to crocheting. I have a pattern I really need to get ready! It was suppose to be done for Aug 1st release and that just didn't happen. The reason for that is a totally different story and not a story to be told today.
