The pattern is Star Flower Wreath by Chickadee Charms Design Company.
I'm using fabric with gold metallic highlights as well as glitter fabric. The wreath fabrics all have metallic highlights and the light and dark blue snowflake materials have glitter. Those snowflake fabrics are stamped 2009 on the selvage.. yeah, haven't known what to do with those fabrics for a long time! I'm glad I had them though. When I saw this quilt I knew that I had to pull them out...
I only have an afternoon left to work on this until it is done. I won't be finishing it this afternoon since I'm going to the library to do a trial run of hanging quilts for display. I hope my friend and I can figure it out because several members of our guild is itching to display - and possibly sell some of their quilts. I'm planning to display this one there this year. Next year it will be hung in my foyer. I have room for two, maybe three big quilts in my foyer.
My guild is also making ornaments to decorate a tree to display in the library. Yes, we love our library! I have been paper piecing a bunch of ornaments and am going to make some fabric balls - no, not those folded star ones although I do have some styrofoam balls and if I hit Hancock's this weekend I can pick up some pins and whip out a bunch of those fabric balls... hmmmm... decisions, decisions...
I'll post pictures as soon as the wreath quilt and the ornaments are done.
I've also been working on a snowman quilt. I am embarrassed to say that I don't have a picture of that one yet. I'll get one though. I have literally the border left to do and then that top will be done and I can get that quilted up... after piecing some backings of course.
So yeah, I've been quiet but I've also been a little busy. I'm getting myself out of a creative funk. I was in that funk for several weeks which is not a good thing for a designer. I will say that the creativity is flowing again! I have visions of a few different quilts to design so I need to break out the eq and get that started... and I need to finish up the next afghan design for the website. The Happy Owl Afghan and Amigurumi pattern has been extremely popular. Have you seen it?
I wanted to give the idea that the owls were sitting in trees. It's so fun - and happy. I loved designing that one!
It is on sale at my main website until the end of November. It's also available in my Etsy and Craftsy shops.
What is my next afghan and ami set? Well... I'm working on it. It's going to have something to do with dogs... that's all I can say right now. It's going to be a cute one though!
