A Tale of Two Stitch Pins - a review 03/24/2011

I usually buy these Clover locking stitch markers.  They are durable and help me to keep track of my crochet rounds.

I have to say that I do like them a lot.  They have never let me down.

I was shopping at Hobby Lobby and they were out of these - gasp! - but they had a different brand so I figured I'd give it a go....

Let me start off by saying that I love Susan Bates products - especially my bamboo handled crochet hooks - so I had high expectations for these really pretty stitch markers.

They are plastic and see through and had a super cool assortment of colors so I left the store, happy as a clam.

I am down to maybe one or two of these.  They are brittle.  They break when you try to open them and I swear I am not man handing them.  I do hope that they find a new plastic manufacturer and get them fixed.  I do intend to contact the company and ask them if they have plans to get the product corrected.  I'll post up when I hear back from them...

So the conclusion of a Tale of Two Stitch Markers?
I'll be staying with the Clover ones at least until Susan Bates revamps their product.  I do wish that the Clover ones came in nicer colors.  They are kinda ugly in my opinion but at least they don't fall apart when you use them.... they only get left in unfinished projects or fall between the sofa cushions!
